Read your report properly
The examiner gives you a report showing the faults they marked. Don’t just look at the result. Look for patterns: are most of your faults about observation, positioning, speed or the manoeuvres? That pattern is your lesson plan.
Book lessons around your faults
Bring the report to your first lesson. We start with the faults that cost you the test, practise them in the kind of places where they happened, then do a mock test to check they’re fixed. Lessons are €45 an hour, booked as two-hour sessions (€90).
Understand the why
In my experience, people who fail usually didn’t prepare properly. They memorised what to do without understanding why. Once you understand why the examiner wants a check or a position, you stop making the mistake under pressure.
You don’t need to redo EDT
Failing doesn’t mean starting again. You don’t need to repeat your EDT lessons, unless your learner permit has lapsed for more than five years.
On the day of your next test
A one-hour warm-up just before the test helps a lot after a fail. My €150 option gives you the warm-up and my car for the test. I prepare learners for Tallaght, Dún Laoghaire, Naas and Carlow.
